Travel Massive Lagos held their September Hangout on Sunday 15th September at Bamboo Lounge in Ikeja, Lagos. They hosted an Australian Travelpreneur, Stephenie Rodriguez, who who was visiting Lagos for the very first time. She is the CEO/Founder of Jozu, a Women’s Travel Community and the inventor of the WanderSafe, a safety application and beacon.
The theme for the hangout was “TRAVELING SAFE IN AN INSECURE WORLD” where Stephenie introduced her travel tech product called “The Safety Beacon”. She explained that the WanderSafe mission is to empower travelers, most especially women who travel alone, to go anywhere.
WanderSafe is the world’s first dynamic safety platform, which is completely non-violent and on a mission to impact 1 billion lives by 2025 and democratise personal safety in support of the UN Sustainable Development goals.
The beacon and WanderSafe application pair quickly and cordlessly using Bluetooth technology. The beacon makes a perfect safety companion for students, solo travelers, elderly parents, and remote workers. It is a ‘help in your hand’ device. Learn more about the product here.
THE HANGOUT SESSION
Attendees had the opportunity to ask Stephenie questions about the WanderSafe platform and the Safety Beacon. She offered to send Beacons to those at the hangout that were interested. I definitely signed up for it! As a female traveler who travels solo once in a while, it would be great to have such a safety travel device.
After the Q&A session, guests had the opportunity to connect, mingle and take pictures. See attendees comments about the hangout in the video below.
