ATTWON’S MAIDEN “OPEN HOUSE” SERIES
Friday 7th July, 2018, I was invited to ATTWON’s maiden “Open House Series” at their ATTWON Creative Hub in Yaba, Lagos. It consisted of a panel that discussed unique things relating to Tourism.
I shared the platform with my travel buddy, Funmi Oyatogun who spoke about Maps and Deji Akinpelu of Sky View Communications who spoke about Virtual Tourism through the use of Virtual Reality (VR). I spoke about Postcards. It was really a fun and interactive session. I’m looking forward to other series.

NIGERIAN POSTAL SERVICE (NIPOST)TARIFF INCREASE
A few days after the ATTWON event, I went to Surulere post office to check my post box and send postcards to my Postcrossing family. Sadly, I could only post one out of almost 15 postcards. The reason. About a few months ago, the Federal government had increased NIPOST tariff which sky-rocked their prizes. So a postcard that I would normally send for N150 or N200 is now about N800!!!! I was so upset that I did an Instagram rant post on it. The plan was to do a campaign against the NIPOST tariff increase. But unfortunately, after consulting my fellow Nigerian Postcard Enthusiasts, I was told a campaign might not make much impact. We are still looking for how we can lodge our complaints. But meanwhile, I have decided that the increase would not stop me from sending postcards. Yaaay to snail mails!!!
