World Post Day is another commemorative day I like to personally celebrate every year. And just like this year’s World Tourism Day Nigeria, I thought it would be nice to celebrate World Post Day Nigeria.
To celebrate World Post Day Nigeria 2017, I teamed up with Mr. Pelu Awofeso of Travel Next Door . I met Mr. Awofeso at Social Media Week Lagos earlier this year when he gave out free postcards. We collaborated with Bakanography (KiaBaKano) who graciously gave us one of their beautiful photos show-casing the Northern Nigerian culture to make postcards.
We also visited Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) to donate postcards to commemorate the day with them.
Our event was also published on Postcrossing blog. Postcrossing is an online project that allows its members to send and receive postcards from all over the world. The project’s tag line is “send a postcard and receive a postcard back from a random person somewhere in the world!”. I first got to know about them in 2014. I find it very exciting getting and sending postcards from or to random postcard lovers from all over the world. I hope to get more Postcard lovers in Nigeria involved.
Next year, we hope to do much more to celebrate World Post Day in Nigeria.
How did you celebrate World Post Day in your country or location this year? Would like to know.
